JEWELRY CARE

We aim for our customers to be able to use our jewelery for a lifetime. In order for the jewelery to keep its shine and quality over several years, handling it is also an important part. We therefore recommend following these guidelines to ensure that your jewelery stays beautiful over time:

Storage

  • Store the jewelry in a jewelry box, soft cloth bag, or a separate compartment in the jewelry box to protect it from scratches and oxidation.
  • Keep silver and gold-plated jewelry separate to avoid contact that can lead to wear.

Avoid harmful substances

  • Remove jewelry before applying perfume, lotions, hairspray or other cosmetic products.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry in contact with water, especially in salt water or chlorinated environments. Even sweat can affect the plating's durability, so take off your jewelery when exercising.
  • Jewelry should not be worn when cleaning with chemicals or when using strong cleaning agents.

Cleaning

  • Daily cleaning: Wipe the jewelry with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dirt, oils and fingerprints.
  • Deep cleaning: Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with lukewarm water and a mild soap to clean. Rinse gently with clean water and dry immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid scrubbing plated surfaces to prevent wear.
Never use strong silver polishes on gold-plated surfaces, as these can damage the plating.

    Management

    • Gold-plated jewelry is more delicate than solid gold. Wear them carefully and avoid activities where they may be subject to shock or high friction.
    • Remove jewelry before sleeping to minimize the risk of wear.

    Renew plating if necessary

    • Over time, the gold plating can wear, especially on parts that are frequently exposed to contact. If necessary, a goldsmith can help replate the jewelry to restore its original shine.

By following these care tips, you can enjoy your sterling silver and 18K gold plated jewelry for a long time to come!
